Founder, President, and Instructor of The Academy of Textiles & Flooring
Carl is the author of the Floor Covering Industry Dictionary, Installation, Reinstallation & Repair Technician Manual, Vapor Emission Testing Manual, Water Damage Restoration Manual, Making Money Marketing Guide, and the Report Writing Manuals. He developed the InspecTen ten step report writing software program for Inspectors. He has co-authored books on Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning, Odor Control Technician, Senior Inspector Handbook and On-site Drapery Cleaning. He has written hundreds of articles for various trade journals where he was a syndicated columnist for ten years. A "Cleaner's Cleaner." Graduate of the University of Southern California holding a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Business Administration. In Addition, he attended the University of San Diego School of Law for two years. This qualified him to become involved in the maintenance of resilient flooring, stripping and waxing all types of flooring as an overeducated janitor. As an instructor he is will known for his West Virginia humor and motivational approach to technical subjects. He is past president of the Carpet Cleaners Institute and has been awarded CCI's Joe Laurino Carpet Cleaner of the Year award and is a unequaled five-time recipient of the Bill bailey Memorial award. Carl is a regional supervisor for the IICRC and has been instructing for industry associations for over seventeen years. He is the co-author of the training manuals on water damage restoration, on-site fabric cleaning, carpet inspections and a comprehensive carpet cleaning textbook.
